REFLECTING ON APRIL 2025
So, one of these days I will actually commit to the goals that I make at the start of the month (LOL!). But for now, I guess the smart thing to do is just scale back.
If you’ve read the past two Monthly Mindsets, then you know that I set the goal to drink more water—the thorn in my side for years—yet again I was unsuccessful. Now, I will say that I was more intentional about drinking water in April than I was in March.
I don’t want to immediately give up on my goal of drinking more water, but I do think it would be best to scale it back and combine it with another habit that I want to work on. (I talk more about that later.)
When it comes to the ‘Emotion to Notice,’ I didn’t do as much work with last month’s emotion that I would have like to do. So, since I don’t think that I’m done with that emotion yet, I’m going to carry it over into this month.
Vocabulary has always been something that I have loved to build on; however, I have always noticed—even before doing the ‘Vocabulary Word to Explore’—that I tend to not use the new vocabulary aloud and only in my head conversations. So, this month I want to be more intentional about using the vocabulary word aloud.
EMOTION TO NOTICE
“Heart is sea, language is shore. Whatever sea includes, will hit the shore.” ~ Rumi
When I wrote the reflection at the top of this article, I didn’t realize that Self-Trust was the original emotion for the March 2025 Edition, and I actually repeated it last month too.
To that end, to have included this emotion of Self-Trust for three issues now, makes it feel too important to move on from without being sure that I have done all work to notice what it means personally and its role in my life.
Since this is the third issue that focuses on this emotion, I don’t feel there is any need to try and add anything to explain it. Instead, I want to invite you to read what I said about it in the previous two issues.
